audio stream problem in virtualdub

Post by Ematheo » Wed Sep 08, 2010 12:31 pm

In my upcoming amv i want to have a clip of the characters talking but when i convert my files so i can edit them, it leaves me with the english audio. Obviously i want the original, japanese audio because it's so much more awesome. : D

I tried looking around in virtualdub to find somewhere you could change to the other audio but this is the closest i'm getting:

It's like the second stream isn't there. Do i have to change something in the script maybe?

Thanks in advance! (:

Assuming you ripped the dvds, you probably chose the English track when you indexed the vobs. In that case you'd just have to re-index and choose a different audio track in DGIndex/DVD2AVI

But both tracks should be there because i selected them while ripping and if i watch it in a media player i can chose which stream to use. I'm clueless :o

VirtualDub can only see the first audio track, it doesn't have the multi-audio track support. However, considering you had to demux both in dgindex, you can just select the japanese one by going to Audio → Audio from other file... and picking the demuxed audio track with the Japanese audio. That will be the one to get muxed at that point.

Handle audio separately to video. It helps.

I have been rendering all my clips into lagarith AVI and with quite a few of the clips I wind up with no audio . I have been told that Lagarith is the best way to process my footage so that they play nice with Sony Vegas :jester: and so far this has been true but every now and then I want to use the original audio from the clips and it seems like with VirtualDubMod it doesn't have the right compression for the audio and I am new to conversion to Lagarith so I have no idea how to fix this problem I have checked on VirtualDubMod and it doesn't look like there is a way to process the audio seperate from the video. Also if anyone can help me figure out why I don't have the ability to use the job function on my VirtualDubMod I would give them my first born |:> been doing all my files one by one !! GRRRR ..... any help would ber greatly appreciated !! <3
