Eh... yes you're right, but I got a bit lazy. I have the DVDs 1,2,5,6. Vol. 4 and 3 are not available in my area since 4 years or something. I don't feel like I want to pay taxes and high import costs. Now I just have one uniform source too.

Again, I didn't say to use ffvideosource for nothing. Once again, directshowsource is not frame accurate and that is why you get frames jumping back and fourth. FFVideoSource is frame accurate so if you use that, you'll be fine.
Also, sorry for misunderstanding that, evafan, my fault: I do that too if I have to edit with avs directly for some reason, but I know that the avtech suggests to postprocess the amv (it's one of the thing I dislike about it), which is why I misunderstood you.

Ah thank you. I somehow overlooked it.
I think it's not modern to postprocess your amv. The usual PC these days should be able to handle all filters that are necessary at DVD ressolution. At least they should be able to slowly export the vid.

FFMS2 isn't technically frame accurate either. Also TheFluff just committed some nice potential fixes like 12 minutes ago that would be good to have in a 64-bit build for users that hate themselves, fixes (hopefully) AVC in MPEG2-TS for people doing their own HD caps of broadcast anime.
But yeah, never use DSS unless you have a very specific reason. IMO it is more frame accurate than FFMS2, but not for what you're using it for. MKV files should always be used with FFMS2 via Haali, or mplayer-uau dumping.

A lot of people run filters in their playback setups, I certainly do. You seem to think that a modern PC is running modern software though. This is not true. For example, avisynth is an archaic slow piece of shit. Look how often you use it regardless of that.Bauzi wrote:I think it's not modern to postprocess your amv.
