Is AviSynth better than virtualdubmod?

Just need an honest opinion. Is it more efficient?

They're best used together. Neither preforms the same function, so you can't compare. VDM is an encoder/decoder and AviSynth is a filtering program.

if you're talking about virtualdub filters vs avisynth filters, then avisynth is much better.

There are a larger range of filters available for avisynth, and you have greater control of the avisynth filters (and when used correctly, can give you a better result)

filtering is like when you make things more blurry or sharper or less colorful or more colorful... and stuff like that

I see. Thanks for the info guys. Sorry, I'm kinda new with this kinda stuff. I've only been using movie maker for a year :(
