Shameless self-promotion, but I am rather fond of the emotion in this video and the way it turned out:

Full Metal Alchemist
Tears in Heaven - Eric Clapton

Now to be frank I haven't really watched any AMVs in the last 6 months so I don't really have that many videos to choose from, but after reading this thread and not finding this video there, I figured I'd say something:
Caught in the Crossfire by Therax
I saw this video originally at ACen'05 and then again at Otakon'05 and if you know ANYTHING about Vietnam and the context and importance of this song during that period then you realize how awesome this video truly is.
I was VERY surprised to find out this editor is not an older editor since his understanding of a song and period "out of his time" are amazing.
Lastly, the photo at the end is a Pulitzer Prize winning photo and the overlay is sheer genius!
Check it out!

Since you're recommending it...dwchang wrote: Caught in the Crossfire by Therax
I must have seen this at AWA since it won Pro-Drama, but maybe I wasn't paying attention. Even now that I've seen the file, it doesn't ring a bell. A few stylistic similarities with my Masters vid are downright spooky since Therax and I have never met or discussed vid projects. Fortunately, it's only in the details; we were working somewhat different concepts.
Anyway, it's a good choice for the drama category.
