Hi, I heard you wanted to make some amvs. I will help you out. First I want to direct you to the many guides on the .org. I am sure most of these are 10 years old but they should be able to answer a lot of your questions.

To answer your question about clips, a lot of people use there on dvd/bluray rips to use in there amvs. Most people can't afford this but you could use your preferred torrent site to find mp4s/mkvs. Because you use sony vegas you will won't be able to use mkvs so you will have to use an mkv to mp4 convert tool ( which should be in the amv starter pack).
