The Weird Al Polka Project!
1. How to join:
It's easy to participate in The Polka Project! No need to sign up anywhere - just make a video following the guidelines below, and PM me when it's done! It's that simple.
2. Project description:
Each of Weird Al Yankovic's albums features a polka "medley" of songs. For the Polka Project, simply take a segment of one of Weird Al's polkas (one part of the medley) and make a music video out of it.
You may use ANY segment from ANY of his polkas! You don't need to "reserve" segments. By the very nature of the project, repetition of audio with different video may just work.
All the segments will be seamlessly combined together, making a single, extended polka video.
I look forward to false endings and restarts, too, so feel free to use the beginning or ending of a polka.
3. Rules:
a. Deadline: July 1, 2007
b. Framerate: 23.976fps progressive (no interlacing allowed)
c. Compression: Lossless AVIs only. Lossless formats include Huffyuv, Lagarith, and Uncompressed; other lossless codecs may be accepted, please ask if you wish to sibmit in a different lossless format.
d. Audio: uncompressed 44.1KHz CD rip. No mp3 source audio, it'll screw up the recombining of the clips.
e. Each video clip MUST include a few seconds of the polka audio segments BEFORE AND AFTER the segment you're submitting, so that clips can be fitted together seamlessly. (The exception is, of course, if you're using the first or the last segment of a polka.)
f. There is no set limit of submissions per person, so submit as many segments as you want to make. However, if you send lots of good ones, some may need to be cut due to time/fairness/some other valid reason.
g. I reserve the right to reject anything that sucks ass.
---
I do not currently have an FTP server, but I can look into setting one up if it looks like we'll need one.
PM me with questions, or post below.
Get editing, people!
(p.s. all tpyos are intentional)

Awesome, sounds like we've got some interest here.
And just because the deadline is far off doesn't mean you should wait until then to make your video - I'm not limiting it to just one per person, so put together as many ideas as you'd like.
(At least one *good* entry per person will get in.)
