That's pretty...Jasper-Isis wrote:Since I seem to be hit with a case of insomnia, here's the latest beta for Surrealism. Brought to you by the wonders of XviD 1.0. Now with better transitions, normal door-openings, and more smoothly floating feathers!
... Actually it's not that dramatic. I only made a few subtle changes on things that annoyed me.
Who did the piano piece? It almost sounds like the theme to Spirited Away in the beginning.

The song I used in Surrealism is called "Shiita no Ketsui" (Sheeta's decision?) from Laputa: Castle in the Sky. So Spirited Away was close.
Actually the main theme from Spirited Away IS awfully nice. (Oxymoron?
) I'm still waiting for somebody to make a good amv to it...
I'm fine with changing to real names on the bumpers, but we should also have our org names on there somewhere. Or maybe we can put them in the credits, like they did with Reflections of Style.
Otohiko: well you could always use a fake "real" name, but there'd be a lot of confusion if we ever run into you at a con.

i do my best thinking on the toilet
the motion for real names on the covers seems to be supported so far. and as i mentioned before, i'm for real names on the title bumpers as well. and org and real name in the end credits seems like a good idea.
and don't worry otohiko, what with your essentialist musical dogma, anti-devil worship stance, and phallic lava lamp, you're pretty mysterious anonymous or not

By the way, I'm in a good mood today - Ararat got 'Staff pick' for action at the LPL contest - which is particularly good for me since this is the first contest I ever submitted a video to. Though I think it's probably a good idea to just let the video stay in the project - so I probably won't release it on the .org until after the project is out.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

The real names thing is cool but I hate my name Arian Sanders. I would be happier using my alias Ooshna.

I vote for real names
ooshna: Is it just part of your name you don't like? You could always abriviate it, A. Sanders in particular has a nice ring to it in my oppinion.
Almost done editing.

Any suggestions/comments? In particular I don't like the term "Spaceworkers" but I can't find a good alternitive.Søren Berg
Requiem For A Nightmare
This piece, at its core, is about memory. Reliving the good memories, suppressing the bad ones, rationality cowers in the face of such emotions. Memory is a powerful and selective force. What if your memories could outlive you? What if you could leave behind a testament to your memories? Would it be a place of joy, of calm reflection, or, as in this piece, a vengeful trap, a nightmare. Join a crew of innocent spaceworkers who venture into just such a world.
The piece begins with a quiet melody; faint opera music can be heard in the background. As the music quickens, the piece chronicles their journey into the unknown. A few minutes into the piece the music changes dramatically, it is once more subdued but it has taken on a much darker tone. It is at this point that the nightmare begins to take hold. At first it is only visions, but soon the line between past and present, between vision and reality, begins to waver. Slowly but inevitably, dreams become reality and the men are consumed, trapped in a world of jealousy and revenge.
There is no salvation, and for these simple, hard-working men, there is no escape.
Almost done editing.

Pen-pen: Your monologue looks great, I see what you mean with the spaceworkers sounding a little weird. maybe just workers? I guess you want to establish that they are in space though... I don't know, no ideas here either ;p
speaking of wich I still need to do my monologue, I just have no idea what to say in it O_o...
