I'd just like to warn you; the box sets on Amazon.com are HK rips last time I checked. The sellers stated that the box set was 3 discs when it should really be 5. Also, They seemed to be hosting FX's HK rip as a "deluxe boxset" also. I think the single sessions are okay, though.

Don't get them unless you want to. =\

Amazon main or Amazon used? I've heard that people sell bootlegs over stuff like eBay and the Amazon used store, which is why I say "take your chances". I thought the stuff sold new by Amazon was pretty reliably legitimate, though, just hard to get in the case of some stuff like Bebop where the supply isn't keeping with the demand.

I bet those bootleggers are getting full price for their crap too, I've seen people selling "barely used" boxed sets of Bebop for $200. As long as they never get smart enough to produce the same number of disks and matching packaging...

Anyhow, that's all I know about that.

Well, I have rips of it left, also, which I suspect are better than an .ogm would be (probably), but I still find them a bit too lossy for my taste.

Naw, I'd rather wait. I'm sure I'll come across it someday. Besides, I'm completely broke again :|

Hmm... I still don't see Songbird's track there - is it there yet?
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

I put it up. It was a song, not a video, so maybe you're checking the wrong folder.

What with cutting off new editors, I've decided to get ready for starting the Second Instrumentality project. I'm out of school in a week and will have time to manage both, and think it might be a good way to deal with overflow in volunteers or music that wouldn't fit the First Instrumentality project.

....To the point....

I just put up a thread with some possibilities for what to do with the next in terms of musical theme asking for people's input on what they'd like to work on and/or simply watch.

If any of you have any opinions or ideas, I invite you to go over to:

to voice them.

Songbird - I finally heard the song. The audio editing is well done but the piece feels very short, I don't know if it was necessary to cut it down that much. It feels kind of weird because there is little to no build up, it's like a highlights reel.

What anime/animes are you planning to use? I think it might be a nice upbeat AMV.

Ok i'm uploading the begining of my project, so you guys can basically see where i'm going with it. Its sortof a narative of the warriors in record of lodus war as they fight the war of lodus. The beigning introduces the characters, and starts to build up to the actuall war for lodus. I'm thinking of using titles to narate it, but I may not. I'll probablyt decide if it needs them or not later on in production. The video uploaded is only a minute in lengh and roughly timed. its just to give an idea of my direction.

The footage quality on the region 1 DVDs are kinda crap, so it will be tough to make a good encode from them :/ Well guess it can be expected given the age of the series.

Title: The warriors last cry
Anime: Record of Lodus war
Song: Jared Hudson - Final Summoning (Originals: Nobue Uematsu [Final Fantasy X])
Running length: 4:30 seconds. (final project, unless I cut it more)

Uploaded to the inbox as "The warriors last cry.avi".

And yes I should be able to make the July deadline.

Suggestions are welcome, though it is a very early Alpha version.

I worked a bit more on my submission. I uploaded my 0.2 beta into the inbox a moment ago. Some editing is off, but I'll fix that later. If you have any suggestions about anything I'll gladly listen to them ^_^!

My idea right now for my vid, "End of All Eva" (need a better title), is to show the progression of story and characters to the end point of the series. Or maybe just show lots of crazy stuff ^_^. I might redoing a lot of it so it has some kind of flow and story to it. Right now, I just need to get editing.

On a side note, I've been working on putting together a DVD collection of amvs I've downloaded. I made one DVD last year, but now I have enough good amvs to make 3 or 4 more  . It's a pain to organize and catalog what videos I will include and have used for what disc already. I also have to reformat a lot of vids since their aspect ratio is either way off or they're widescreen. Not only that, I'm creating disc labels and inserts.

Thats about all I have to say. I'll download some more betas of other peoples works and give some opinions soon.
Insert clever text/image here.

Bakadeshi & anubisx00: videos posted to outbox. Congratulations to anubis for being the first (as far as I've noticed) to upload a video in the same naming format as I changed all the others to a while back.

There's also a third new video by a Maverick7013. I know I've already set a cut-off for new videos, but this one is short and at least halfway completed, so it might not be an issue with the project length or deadline. On the whole I know I like it, though it seems a bit transition-heavy at points, but I thought I'd let the other editors take a look and come to a group decision on whether it will be included in this edition of Instrumentality or saved for the next. It's also in the "In Progress" folder of the "Outbox".

No new news with 13'37"/Third Stone. Afraid the titles are going to be on hold for another week before I'm done with finals and finally finish the thing. I'm getting a little impatient with myself at this point, but I don't want to rush anything now that I'm this far in. I'll also have a chance to catch up with everyone else's videos and be able to once again say intelligent things about each of them.
