Heh, well - congrats. Actually, do look for cons that accept videos of that length. It's definitely a great video with a solid, logical layout.
I've had trouble with the FTP again - well, it was just being REALLY slow. Probably just a temp thing. Hopefully it'll be more functionable later.
But I did manage to get the recent latest version of Third Stone/13'37" and will watch shortly...

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Finally watched Third Stone 2.0...
Finally! Maybe it's just me - but I'm leaning to the notion that whatever you did to it in between the last version and now somehow made it come together - and really, really well. I'm even missing the titles less, though they would help. I'll try to be more constructive when I get to see it more, but in general - I was really impressed. The color highlights - great touch; you finally did something with the bridge scene (and very well), and it seems the timing is very solid. I finally got the 'story' of the video, too.
I recall nagging you about technical aspects and general execution of some videos in ops a while back - but now I can safely say that the execution is well on par with the idea. I think it could easily be one of my favorite videos when it's done.
Again, I'll try to be more constructive later - I just can't pick minor things up too well until I watched a video about 3 times. The only things that caught my attention so far is a couple of small visual glitches.

Great work so far everyone! The more I watch, the better the project gets I think. I'll try to download everyone else's work soon enough.

Anubisx00 just watched the first part of "(End of all Eva) v0.0" I'm not a fan of Eva, but I found this piece to be intriguing. I really got some of the emotion of the characters. Nice. ^_^\/

I continue to stand by my op, I haven't gotten into an AMV like that for quite awhile. Damn fine work.pen-pen2002 wrote:Beta Tester wrote:Well my first thought is that your gonna clean up at any con you go to

That said this is an easy 5 star video, and the video to beat at ANY con.![]()
(I'm not trying to be vain or anything. I don't think it's true at all. Just that someone would even say that just blew me away and I had to get it out somehow.)

Otohiko I just finished watching "sailor's tale (effect & animation preview 2)"
I like the effect, but by the end of it Spike kinda looks like he's trying to imitate a humming bird. Any way you could make his fingers do some of faster movments? (I hope I didn't make you upset with my review. I have a tendancy to be too blunt. It's a bad habit I'm trying to break. ^_^;;; )

Otohiko - Just watched "sailor's tale (effect & animation preview 1)" I like this one better, but I like the background on #2 better. My one complaint with this one is that Spike's left shoulder. The edge is very jagged. Is that the way it was or was it a result of cutting him out of his original background?

Should the 'Diva Dance' be under "Songs"? It's hard for me to tell whether something is just an audio stream or something that has a video stream that requires some weird codec without digging through MPlayer's log files, so I just assumed it was a video I was unable to watch.
Otohiko - The titles are coming back, they're just taking their time and probably won't be around until they get hungry and are expecting me to feed them. The black frames, while not nearly as bad as before, keep coming back when I don't want them to thanks to some quirks with Cinelerra, but I can remove those by copying good frames over them before using MEncoder to compile it all back together for the final version. The timing is actually what it should have been all along, but wasn't until I found a better export and encoding process, explaining some of the issues with the timing in several of my earlier videos. The FTP has been acting a bit funky as of late because I've been using the internet connection very heavily for testing some software stuff I'm working on, and at the same time have been transferring a lot of data back and forth between my two hard drives - cutting into total throughput. At least it's been stable despite my gross abuse of my computer's capabilities, if not terribly fast.
Pen-Pen - I still haven't figured out the whole ratings scale bit for videos (tending to agree with the popular opinion for what's very good, and what's very bad, but little else between the two ends of the spectrum), but I do have to say that it's a very strong video.

Yeah, it's just the song. Sorry bout that. I don't have software that can export to MP3 so the best I can do is export it as .AVIrose4emily wrote:Should the 'Diva Dance' be under "Songs"? PenPen- Yay! I finally got to see your latest beta!

It looks like a really creepy anime. Is it all sad or is there anything else to it?

I ended up not having the source as I expected, so the video is on hold, sadly

Actually, both backgrounds are placeholders, and the jagged edges would be removed if I went further with it.
As for the 'humming bird' - actually, that's entirely intentional. It's just a little bit exhaggarated, but it's based on the actual guitarist - I saw him play a similar solo (both live and on a DVD), and this is pretty much the physical impression I got
