Regarding My Submission...

Post by Kira_Douji » Mon Sep 24, 2007 10:25 pm

Could I get some CC on my part? I have some time here to polish it up and then get something out for the intro clip, so I'd like to get some opinions if possible.

Try doing something other then just fades and scene switches to keep the editing style from seeming stale... Try new stuff? The sync is good if your only syncing fades and scene switches over and over again then it loses it's potential farther down the timeline. This is the problem i notice in most amv's. Don't be afraid to experiment; even if something you tried doesn't look good you could still learn something new.

Eva_fan, could you elaborate on that? I mean, "something different" is good, yes, but the music is rather fast and anything other than crossfades would probably be lost in all of that, don't you think? Did you have something in mind? Just working with the music, I just can't think of "something different" that would actually fit.

You won't know that unless you try :/. There's lots of ways you could do it. Instaed of syncing to every beat with a scene switch you could sync a slightly longer clip to what is going on in the anime or add an FX into the clip that is being synced.

feel free to CC the hell out of my vid for revenge if you want. I was just offering my advice.

I'd actually agree with Eva that a few longer scenes may be in order. All of your cuts are so fast, it's kind of hard to get an idea of what's going on - you know? You did this on a few scenes, using action within the scene to sync instead of a cut, but usually it is only for the length of one or two cuts:
Ie,
transition, internal sync, transition

Maybe throw in a few more internal syncs here and there to make a scene a little longer, like

transition sync sync sync transition

Sorry it took so long. This has been a very long two weeks for me. X_X

Also keep in mind that this is a very rough beta and I'm still tinkering with everything at the moment.

I hope I didn't come off defensive or anything in the second post, I really just wanted a bit more clarification... :/ At any rate, thanks both of you, I'll see if I can't come up with something to split it up a bit.

I wasn't trying to be mean either, your sync is good and so is your segment. I was just saying it would be better if you spiced it up with some experimenting.

BTW I've done alot more since that "TEST" and decided on an ending point in the song. I'm sure you'd rather lighten your work load before everyone hands in there tracks so incase you want to start mixing early or someone else is doing the mixing... Here's the audio for my segment:

What are you talking about? I DL'd it and played it just fine. I don't know where your getting a text file from.
