I think the largest .gif I worked on was about 1.7gig. Lots and lots of trimming was involved.

8.6k. The problem is that if you want it smaller than that, you're going to have to redraw it using cleaner lines and simple colors. Fortunately, it's only 15 frames originally, so you should be able to make some reasonable vectors without overly much effort.
