Full Moon wo Sagashite Anime Ending issues

I didn't see any forum topics on this anime. The anime is now a bit old so I'm sorry if I'm rehashing things but I need some help resolving some things.

I absolutely loved this anime and was excited at every new episode I got to watch until I reached the final episode at which point I had a this feeling of ick that stayed with me for a couple of days. Until I moved on to Bleach which is also about Shinigamis, so weird.

Here are all my issues with the Anime and how it ended.

When she had to stop Mitsuki from going to the audtion and for gosh darn good reason. Takuto knowing full well what the reason was never asked Meroko forgiveness over his complete immaturity. Instead it was Meroko asking for forgiveness and Takuto essentialy saying "ok I'll be gracious and LET you be my friend." I was like what the hell? for real? no way. That to me was the biggest slap in the face for Meroko which was followed by many many more moments of everyone not appreciating her.

Now I was not expecting Takuto and Meroko to hook up at the end but I was at least HOPING for a warm moment between them where Takuto tells Meroko. "Thanks for risking your life, your job, and your other friendships for me." Instead we have Takuto drink a flower potion to forget Meroko's existence. Clearly the potion was unneccessary in getting him to forget about her since he didn't even think of saying a good bye, thank you, or I'm sorry to her before he drank the darn thing. And he is a smart enough boy to have been able to figure out it must have been Meroko who got the flower in the first place.

And then Meroko's big reward at the end was being changed into a ghost with wings *cough* I mean angel. While EVERYONE else got to be together as one big happy family. I couldn't believe at how much she got shafted in this so called "happy ending". And therefore I had a feeling of ick. Not only did she never get a moment of appreciation or thanks from the person she risked everything for. She also gets to be forgotten by him for all eternity. Alone, no longer being seen by humans or shinigami a like. LAME!

Also on another note, I really don't understand why everyone was so happy about Takuto and Mitsuki hooking up at the end. This actually added to my feeling of ick. Let's do the math for a few seconds. When Mitsuki's father was in his band. Takuto was 12. Now the band quits Mitsuki's mom is pregnant. Let's say a year goes by even though pregnancy is only 9 months. It just makes the math easier. Mitsuki is born; Takuto is 13. Now time passes Takuto "dies" no wait wait he was in a comma. Ok but if Mitsuki is 12 then Takuto has to be no younger than 25. Everyone wants a 25 year old hooking up with a 12 year old? really? I didn't.

I have scanned lots of forums and it doesn't seem like anyone noticed this age thing or at least didn't care. And no one else seems to care about Meroko's plight. So I'm really curious about peoples thoughts on this. I want to know if anyone had the same reaction as me or if they had a different reaction why. None of my friends are willing to watch this 52 episode anime. Too long they say. I really want to find closure on this and am asking for your help.

PS. I also read the Manga hearing it was a different ending. It was definately different but I had other issues with the Manga as well though I won't go into them on this thread since many have probably not read it.

I didn't quite like how Meroko was kind of sacrificed at the end. However, she was a bit shady during the show and quite selfish. It is kind of like karma kicked her in the head and she accepted that for that selfishness she will have to be apart from the people she grew fond of.

I also noticed the age thing. There she's only got to wait until she's 16 so I think they will wait it out. I doubt if they'll do anything terrible. It is still kind of odd though but they are cute together.

Ah, I've read the manga and seen parts of the anime, and I can definitely say that I like the manga better. Even though it doesn't have the "epic" sort of ending that the anime does, it does a much better job of developing the characters and harvesting the readers' sympathies. And yes, I was utterly disappointed about the anime's treatment of Meroko.

1. The anime reduced her to a whiny brat who has to consult a pink handbook to do her job. For goodness' sake, she's Takuto's sempai. She knows how to do her job.

2. The anime Meroko didn't have any connection to

Kyah, I love this manga too! I've never seen the Anime, but don't really have a desire to. I'm satisfied with the manga. ^.^

But I hate it when that happens. When they turn SUCH a kick ass character into a whining brat. Granted, Meroko defintely had her 'OHM I'M SUCH A STUPID HOE' moments, but she more than defintely made up for it, no?

To tell the truth, I thought the red outfit was cute. *pokes fingers together* 'Cause I've seen really cool pics of her 'n at.....

lmao! And I thought I was fanatical!! Do you enjoy putting strange recipes together for special events as well??? I guess your reasonings make sense but it never said Mitsuki hooked up with anybody though you KNOW the doc hooked up with the manager damn was she a milf ;p... Why was a 12 year old riding a crotch rocket on his own anyway?? I missed the comma part, I thought he died right there and stopped ageing, so he should be like 14 to Mitsuki's 13! Deffiniteley doesn't look 14 lol. Yeah, Meroko got jacked.
