Did anyone wait for the cell games dvd's to come out and when you finally got the one with gohan destroying cell with a kamehameha--the pixelation was god awful? I played it on several different dvd players and TVs and it was really bad looking. I feel like I got cheated out of my money. Other friends of mine had the same problem.
Well most of the nudity in DBZ was from the back. Dragonball (especially in the magna) had far more nudity and profanity than DBZ. That was something I found surprising, considering that more nudity and profanity existed when Goku was a child than when he is an adult.W i l l o w wrote:I just stumbled upon this FOURM TOPIC and I read a couple of posts and I'm just wondering here:
"People wanted to see DBZ uncut because of they wanted to hear swearing?" --- That's just ignorant. As for the Blood and Guts, I wouldn't mind but it wouldn't add anymore onto the action happening on the screen. And then there's the GOHAN NAKED SCENES --- I honestly have no desire to Gohand naked unless its in the Magna, other than, you can cover his personals up, just do it so it doesn't look like you just edited that scene out.
Alas Digress.
Indeed this is true, DragonBall Did have more Nudity than DBZ. - I thought it was funny when Toonami put underwear on Goku's naked front.Well most of the nudity in DBZ was from the back. I wouldn't mind that either I suppose.I don't mind the nudity being edited out. I just like to see it in all it's violent glory.
Man, I thought that was dumb when I was just a kid! Seriously was Nappa Phsyic or something in the English dub? How could their be no people in town on Sunday? - If there was a church and buildings in that town, the people were sure to be gone along with it! I even scowled when they said the pilots in the Jet's Nappa destroyed got out safely with their Parachutes. Sure, only if their Superman could they get out of a exploding jet safely. As for editing. When you see Nappa destroy a city and they add in the dub, "good thing it's Sunday and no one was in this part of town!" I mean YEAAAAAAAAAAH RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT! (that was the Pioneer dub)
I'll admit that they said some really stupid things the original English Dub, and I didn't notice this until was I was a teenager and had gotten used to extreme violence (via Gundam Wing/8TH MS TEAM, and others showcased onI don't mind the editing nearly so much as just the extremely bad dubbing and dumbing down of a great anime to make it watered down children's fare.
I have no problem with doing that on TV. I know the kids love Dragonball. That's why I'm willing to buy the DVDs. Give me my anime unedited.
As a matter of fact, I don't think they edit Dragonball enough on tv. I was quite shocked they left in the part about Master Roshi using Bulma's shrink band to shrink himself so he could hide in the bathroom and watch Bulma pull down her pants in the bathroom. I mean that's just dirty. Last time my kid watched Dragonball. I can tell you.
Well, they did edit it a little (I have the DVD of that one). Master Roshi sneaks in, looks up and sees Bulma in her underwear, and starts drooling that she's going to pull them down. But, he's too late and she pulls her pants up. He missed "the show." Disgusting. Even in it's edited form, I felt that was WAY too suggestive for a show they are marketing as children's fare. Do our kids really need to be educated on Voyerism?W i l l o w wrote:Indeed this is true, DragonBall Did have more Nudity than DBZ. - I thought it was funny when Toonami put underwear on Goku's naked front.Well most of the nudity in DBZ was from the back. TOONAMI's midnight run).

You'd think they'd show Bulma going into the house [Cut out Roshi and the Bathroom scene out completely], maybe input a flushing noise and then show Bulma coming out of Kame house ready to go, then show Roshi all dripping wet, thus leaving the mind to wonder where he went.

TV's the worst way for any kid to find about anything you don't want them to know about until their much older to comprehend it. Seriously though, I don't think kids need to be educated on Voyerism unless you absolutely think they need to be or otherwise noted. That's my opinion anyhow.
