i don't want kenshin to become another battosi. i think it would be better for him to stay away from it. he is better off. if he becomes another battosi then he will lose kaouru

The whole thing about Kenshin dying of (what was it, broncitis?) is what gets me. I mean, really! I haven't seen it, granted, but I've seen lots of music videos and even heard people describe it in detail. It sounds like an excesively sad end for him. And after everything he'd been through he deserved a happy ending. (And I don't mean the scar disappearing. That doesn't count as 'happy'.)
I don't know, they could at least have had Kenji *like* his dad.

Kenshin and Kaoru *are* married in Reflections.
The thing to remember about Reflections is that it is completely divorced from the manga. While I thought Reflections was OK, the ending just seemed so counterproductive considering everything Kenshin had gone through to make peace with his past. It was a very bittersweet ending, but it just didn't seem very in-character to me.
So, if you want a happier outlook, supposedly the manga's happier. I haven't quite read that far yet though.

I really liked it a lot, but I can see how some people might not. It was very sad, but it was also very touching in a lot of ways. If you haven't seen it Brigid, you should see it for yourself. There are a lot of sublties about it that I think you in just hearing about it from others or seeing AMVs.

Quite likely, and it probably makes a very good story seperate from the manga.
Though it might be difficult if it really is as out of character as Solaria735 says.

As to that, yes and no. I mean, it is out of character considering it dwells a lot more on the darker aspects than the anime does and doesn't have the humor to lighten the mood. But I also think that the characters actions fit well enough with what has been so far developed. It really brings out the deep emotional side of the story that I thought was a little too lightened up in the anime. And it really shows the extent of Kaoru and Kenshin's love for each other.

It's not so much that Kenshin is "OMG out of character", even though, yes, the OVAs are a lot darker than the anime. It's just more that (I felt) he shouldn't be so angsty and depressed after deciding the best thing to do in light of his past was just to live his life. I saw Reflections before the series and the manga and I liked it; it was after that I just couldn't see Kenshin reverting back into such a dreary mindset.
I did love the extent of Kenshin x Kaoru's love though, as aesling said.

Kenshin is such a LONG series. I was SO glad when it ended, to be honest.
It was awesome, don't get me wrong...but it dragged on longer than it had to. Which is the case with many series' of today.
I was very happy when the OAV came out, though. Returning to the Samurai X style was very awesome. The work is beautifully done. <33
My favorite character from the whole thing was probably Saito. He was hardcore, yoz. A bastard, but hardcore. XD
Really, though, I completely prefer Samurai X, but...that's just me. XP
