Except for the fact that Eureka actually shows signs of emotional change that any normal viewer to the show can see, and except for the fact that Renton isn't a total wussazulmagia wrote:OK, I saw the first episode tonight... and I must say, Eureka is really hot. I guess she's this series' Rei, right? And Renton's the Shinji of this series...

I have to say that you have to see the series in almost it's entirety before you are able to make a fair assessment of show. That seems like asking a lot, I know, but honestly this show's way of story telling is much different from your typical anime. It is constantly giving you hints at the bigger picture and the main storyline but you never realise it until things start really becoming unraveled in episode 29 and onward. For most people this is just far too long of a wait, I was lucky enough to download the whole series and watch it all in one sitting so I didn't have to tough it out from week to week on AS.
Overall the show has an amazing and original storyline, a fullbodied and broad cast characters who all grow at a realistic pace, and the LFO battles were conducted almost like perfectly timed symphony.
This show has easily taken it's spot in my top 5 anime series of all time and I have probably watched it about 6 times through now. Even now, 3 months after finishing the show, it still has a profound affect on me.
As of now I say that the show has been underapreciated and ignored by the anime community, but I am sure that many many more people will be jumping on board in the next couple of months with the new AS action block to draw viewers in to watch one of the best mini-arcs of the series that goes from 21-28.
ps. If you have already seen all of E7 and loved it then feel free to check out the AMVs that are my pride and joy "Eureka seveN - Run" and "Eureka seveN - Open Your Eyes" my 2nd and 3rd AMVs respectively. They do contain big spoilers so please keep away anyone who is only following the series on AS.

I can tell you I would of never gotten into evangelion if I had this narrow minded way of looking at things. I couldn't understand what was so great about the show even after the first 4 episodes.. but after hearing so much good things about the show I decided to give the show a shot.. and realized that it's a lot more than what the first four episodes presented. I say to look into things before you go deeming it something. Knowing a lot of people don't do that make me appreciate the type of person I am, so open minded..Cornwiggle wrote:I got a feel of this show from 2 episodes
Anyways I think the series is pretty good based on what I saw.. I haven't seen much of it though. The series might be great but I haven't seen enough of it to decide on it's quality.. sorry I don't play that way.

I totally agree with you. Some of the plot points didn't truly show themselves until Episode 50 was almost over though. You really have to watch it the whole way through to really understand some of what was taking place throughout the course of the season. I thought it was pretty neat that way.

Alright, so basically, this show changed my life. I love it so much, you guys don't even know!
There were points when the mood of the show made my mood for the rest of the day. If it was a sad episode, I'd be depressed. I finished the series in about March or so, back when there weren't many fans. I'm so happy other people like it! I recomend that you don't watch it on Adult Swim. This show needs to be marathoned!
