Re: Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
I'm slightly disappointed that KyoAni never did deign to show us Kyon's facial expression after Itsuki suggests that he ought to be the one to do it himself, but I was kind of expecting that from the way that part went in the original source -- and they kept coming up with clever ways to hide his face (though the last one was a bit of a dud).
Anyway, I'm really excited now that I've seen what they chose for the next arc. I've been hoping they would animate this story ever since I first heard the second season announced (which was what, TWO YEARS ago?! what in hell took them so long?), and the first episode so far hasn't disappointed.
Though I swear they weren't using the shaky cam this much (if at all) in the original series (I understand they're doing it to indicate Kyon's POV, but still), and I don't believe that Haruhi was making this many K-ON!esque faces either (she's been doing it occasionally through all of the new episodes, but this last one REALLY had a lot).

It's of course an unfortunate graphic gaffe, it is also so utterly unimportant too.
Anime, one of the few things about the internet that doesn't make me hate the internet.

Actually, I was randomly scrubbing through the avsp preview while filtering, as I said. I noticed it by coincidence.Sukunai wrote:I TRULY feel sorry for ANYone that can pay SOOO much attention to unnecessary levels of detail.mirkosp wrote:So I was going through my s1 DVDs and jumping randomly through them while filtering... and I noticed this...

And I thought that the overdramatization was quite obvious.

3 eps into the post endless eight arc and it looks 'ok', but then the shows are at least different now
Season 2 though is so utterly just eps that should have been portions of season 1. Has any other anime ever actually done this before?

Do research on anime? I'm a nerd, but I'm not THAT big if a nerd. I watch and enjoy, and that is enough for me.

Personally, I read the Baka-Tsuki wiki translation of the light novel instead, but whatever.Ishbalan wrote:Rewatch Episode 00. Then read wikipedia about it like everyone else did years ago.
