well the "rape" is just due to their supposed ages i think, but if y a listen to it the characters themselves say "yes.. rape me you feel so goo draping me." That sort of dialogue. is in the first episode. when this guy cast a sex spell on a blond cheerleader type. Anyways yeah they are weird. Ill IM you sometime and trip you out with all the stufff i could tell ya. Oh i seen the shoujo manga of Escaflowne i too prefeer that one.

Well, returning to the topic post, I think the problem is Van! He didn't ask Hitomi to be her queen, right? So Hitomi preferred not to risk everything for a simple possibility.

I think Hitomi should have stayed with van!! it was disappointing that she went back to earth. If it was me I would have stayed.

Yeah Hitomi gave him the necklace before he hugged her and she went home ^_^

I love the series but I like the animation in the movie better!

I really didn't like their pointy noses in the anime but I got used to it doesn't bother me anymore

Yeah, but even so... would you rather be a respected semi-worshipped person in a magical kingdom or a High School (middle school?) student?

Maybe he didn't pledge his crown but it was pretty obvious the way the wind was blowing. Besides, didn't he just get done risking his life, kingdom and everything else for her? How much more commited does she need a guy to be? I mean, even after he lost his kingdom, all of his friends and mentors, AND was being hunted down he was still trying to help her. I'm thinking that my personal priorities might have changed a bit after that. PLUS she was all moony eyed over what's his name half the time. I'd be all "hey... get blondie to help you then."

Somebody mentioned the necklace.. but I don't really see how that's going to help him except to maybe point to the HUGE PLANET in the sky. "hitomi is there"

I think we have to face it... she traded in her knight in shining armor (literally!) for a drab high school existence with a distant chance of a track scholarship to some college. Although... the plumbing was probably better.

*was the one who mentioned it* But the necklace is what got Hitomi's grandmother to the Mystic Moon. Then Allen's dad gave it to her, whereas Hitomi could then return.

Plus, even though Hitomi was on Earth, when Van came back for her, he was able to travel because of the pendant. So wouldn't it be likely that he also could go to Earth?

But knowing Van, he'd be too dedicated to his country and wouldn't travel to Earth on the possibility that he might never return. *le sigh* Hitomi no baka. Shoji Kawamori, you taught us nothing but throwing away a perfectly good chance!

ehehe, you're forgetting we're talking about Hitomi here, not the smartest girl in all Gaia (ad not even in Earth). Example: if it was Millerna or Yukari they would have catched the hints. But Hitomi needs blatantly obvious declarations (and i don't see our proud Van below her window in the moonlight crying with a mandolino "Hitomi, wanna be my queen?")

Although there is that uber cute scene where he goes "I want you...." And then he pauses and chickens out and claims he wants her power. *hugs Van tightly* Augh, best romance scene EVER!!
