Beo, quit your yapping. These vids, of all released this year, are the closest to horror that I've seen. So unless you want to get rid of the category for good, shut yo mouf.

As for me, I'd vote Variations. Partly because I'm a big power metal fan, but also because I thought it was awesome and the atmosphere was great.

what

but he's right. none of them are really horror. just a bunch of action. anger management is the closest. a girl cutting people up and chasing guys around is cool. like my sister said, "that guy with the fucked up face is a horror."

w/ the amount of horror videos out there, it probably shouldn't be a category at all.

Yeah I believe you were at ACen too when he "debuted" it. I know I was rooting for it and was disappointed when it lost. And then again at Fanime and Otakon ;_; *sob*. I was very happy to see the win at AWA Pro and also that Travis was there to receive the award.

Beo has his points, but at the same time, if there's only one horror video, the category shouldn't really exist and well, that'd suck. I'd agree that these are "the closest" though.

Have fun and enjoy them!

Yeah I was at ACen when it played and I was blown away. When the intro screen came up and it introduced the band, my jaw dropped. I was thinking it wasn't going to be very good though, because most of the videos I've seen with similar music just suck. But I was so amazed.

Oh well, that's cool he won at AWA.

Not horror in the scary sense. But just because they're filled with action doesn't mean they aren't horror. Drama videos can be filled with action but still be drama. Horror has to be loosely defined becase frankly, I don't think I could ever be scared by a music video. Horror, in AMVs nowadays, basically means dark. :? That's how I see it anyway.

Next year we should get rid of Horror for a category such as Excellence in Simplicity or something :?

I fought for that category but Phade said Excellence in Simplicity was too vague as "how simple is simple".

Also, people can't be trusted to understand categories - they just vote all the videos they like in all the categories they are available :(

Too true. :?

But next year we should change "Horror" to "Dark".
