i was disqualified for 2 vids premiered in 2002 !!! with for each an unknown music performer.

who have a more stupid disqualifying reason ? the contest starts now :) :) :)
In my case it was one vid premiered in 2001. I actually didn't know the music artist. What's bad about this? You know, all that "the only thing I know is that I know nothing" stuff, ignorance is not a sin, etc.

Even better: I replied to Phade to explain that I wouldn't have any internet access for some days because I was moving from France to the USA, and that I wouldn't be able to fix missing data before some days. He said fine. I was disqualified. Cool.

This is quite unfair since for another video whose artist I didn't know, I put the name of the OST the song was taken from, and nobody complained.

So I encourage you, people: don't put "Unknown" anymore when you don't know. Just create a new artist which is the song's title, the album's name, you pet's name, a random number, Unknown with a spelling mistake, anything. The data base will look terrible, but maybe as a result the rules will be more tolerant next year.
(No, just joking, don't do that... But well... Those rules are real bullshit. Did a policeman write them? A lawyer? We're just AMV makers...)

I am still a virtual contestant for Zombie and Anthem (see my profile for downloading them, link is in my signature). Who wants to be a virtual voter? :?

Since some pleople just can't look for a previous topic which was mentioned in the starting post.

"Allright since alot of us got disqualified i'm sponsoring an award of my own.

The rules are (And can be added to/changed at any time)

1. The contest is only opened to those who were disqualified from the VCA

2. Only one video per disqualified creator.

3. Only those who were disqualified may vote.

4. the prize will be a random anime DVD that the creator who wins does not have. This will be taken care of with the creator who wins.

5. voting will take place after the VCAs in topic created for it.

Allright those are the rules. To enter please put your video information in the 'Disqualified VCA Creator entries' . That is all."

well, if these creators don't nominate any of their other vids, I'd like to suggest, if I may...

Best Trailer: Akimbo's "One Big Cliche"
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=24910

Best Parody / Comedy: kurt's "Excel Pop Up Video"
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=18817

Best Drama: feanor's "Center of the Sun"
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... er_id=1397

also -- I think everybody ought to be allowed to vote on this. For one thing, lots of people are miffed about not being able to vote for their favorites, not just the DQ'ed creators. And besides, it doesn't make sense to complain (rightfully, I think) about the restrictions of the VCA, and then put such restrictions on this contest. As for me, I don't know if I count as DQ'ed or not.... it's been three years, and still haven't finished a vid...
