Anime On DVD reports that AnimEigo's license for KOR expires at the end of July. Forum link
AnimEigo has the series up for sale at pretty cheap prices on their site. http://www.animeigo.com/home.t Plus a bunch of other things too. This is probably going to be the last time you'll see this series on DVD. It is a pretty old show and I'm sure the interest in the property has waned over the years. It's fairly unlikely that another company will pick up this series anytime soon.Kimagure Orange Road Hits The Road (02:32 PM EDT): According to a posting on the Animeigo Talk mailing list, the license for Kimagure Orange Road is expiring towards the end of July and AnimEigo, who has had some deep firesales on their stock recently, will no longer be able to sell it (copies in retail will stay there until sold or returned). According to the post, they tried to extend the license but were unable to.
Personally, I want to thank everyone who signed up for the original laserdisc sets all those years ago that helped the entire show be licensed and released. The laserdisc set and its DVD release continue to be a cornerstone of what I consider the jewels in my collection. And of course, a huge tip of the hat to AnimEigo for everything they did with it in the long run. I hope they have something else of a similar nature up their sleeve now that it and Urusei Yatsura are behind them.
