250GB Hard Drive for $50/w 2 MIRs

Post by NeoQuixotic » Mon Jul 11, 2005 12:15 pm

Warning! This deal requires 2 mail-in-rebates to be sent in!

Edit: I forgot to give the specs of the drive, here you go then ^_^!
Hitachi Desktar 7K250 series
Newegg product link

Best Buy currently has a 250GB Hitachi hard drive for only $50! The national advertisement lists it as $179-$40 MIR-$40 MIR=$99. The hard drive isn't even listed online at bestbuy.com. However, if you go in-store it is $129-$40 MIR-$40 MIR=$49 ! I had to get one myself and I purchased it for $129 with two $40 MIRs. If you need lots of storage for cheap go get this NOW! Even early Sunday most stores were out of stock, I had to drive to a different store than my local one to get this. Now all I have to do is wait 2 months for both rebates to go through :D.

Not sure if anyone cares, but I have installed the Hitachi and am very happy with it so far. I've been playing Half-Life 2, Far Cry, and Battlefield 2 on it and the loading times are great! I also ran some files through Vegas and did some quick editing and it seemed fast there too! It also seems to be a quiet drive compared to my previous Western Digital or current Seagate. Overall it is my fastest drive yet and from the 250 GB it formated to about 232 GB in NTFS with default drive parameters. I'd jump on this deal if you are lucky enough to find one at Best Buy.

Silly me, I forgot to post that first (well it is in the product link, but meh).
It is an IDE Ultra ATA100 hard drive.
