when the diff between the electro negativity numbers is bigger then 1.8 is it ionic or molecular?

i can't help. i'd have to have the grade 11 text to answer that, and i'm not in grade 11 chem anymore.but i believe between 1.8 and 7.2 is ionic and outside that range is polyatomic. not sure about the 7.2 though.
