I'm in college!!!!!!!!!!!

Post by angelx03 » Fri Sep 05, 2003 10:55 am

That's right! I'm in college with NO computer in my dorm room in the moment, so I won't be able to check the forums as much as I used to. All I got to say is that RIT is great so far. Most of the students and faculty are very nice, and my roommate is VERY quiet (except when his girlfriend is around  ). Well I start classes next Monday and got my books.

All right, just want to say hello! :P

Enjoy yourself as college slowly sucks all the money you've ever had away from you... :)

You have my sympathies. I hate college and you will too. Say goodbye to any money you hold in your hand.

If it's cheaper (which it probably is), move out of the dorms, and get an apartment. You'll find everyone will trash the dorm so fast, you'll think you were deported to Afghanistan. They also loose whatever potty-training skills they developed as a toddler, going anywhere no one is looking. One time, I caught my Resident Assistant using the facilities while taking a phone call on his cell. Of course, the bastard didn't even wash his hands.

Also, at least when you're off-campus, you don't have to worry about the Gestapo (Christians and teacher's pets) getting you busted for having different political/moral values. I swear to God, no matter how far away you are from a crowd, the walls have ears!

I couldn't get a damn scholarship, had no job during my freshman year, and I still had to pay the government on my tax returns! What the hell? For some bizarre reason, being a white pre-engineering student, having a reasonably above-average intelligence, and refusing to participate in extra-curricular activities means you don't get jack squat, and then you have to pay MORE!

If I had at least ONE scholarship, I know I would've been off-campus in a heartbeat for my sophomore year, and packing a gun or two, just to make sure those Christian bastards didn't mess with me.

College Horrors

You have my condolences as well. I commute to college right now so I can't say I've ever run into anything revoulting in the dorms but some of what I've heard has made me think twice about moving into them. As far as money for textbooks go, I certainly know how that is, I worked for My college bookstore for 2 summers, and let me tell you, almost NOTHING comes cheap! I used to joke around with people I knew saying "Oh look, someone has stamped the official UMBC seal on this item... now we can charge triple the price! Anyway GL, try not to get nervous or worry too much, which, might be alot to ask I know, but in the end it's just a waste of time, keep your mind clear and just take whatever comes in stride (no matter how seemingly hectic it is). That's about the best advice I can give. Again GL.
