UFR, anime e-mail rpg
I've had an rpg several times in the past, but the thing is after the first time I never really could think of anyplace to get new people to join it. So I kept getting the same people who were becoming more and more sick of rping to join it.
I was rather dissapointed the last two times I ran the thing cause I put alot of effort into making up rules and stuff. I was really into it and ready to have the rpg go for quite a while... but everyone just kinda slacked off and didn't do anything killing the darn thing on me.
I'm thinking of starting my rpg up one last time, and I was wondering. Would anyone here be interested in joining if I did? If I get enough responses I'll start working on the rules and stuff.

Depends. Can I function as a loner in this game, or if groups are involved, will the rest of the team kill me for being too reckless or for being a pyro? I had the worst luck with Dungeons and Dragons, because my sister and neighbors who like to give me nothing but crap were involved. I must've lost three or four characters before I ever came close to reaching level 2, and then my character was hated by the other PC's so much, I was thrown into the town well repeatedly for half of the game. Eventually they knocked me out cold, stole my clothes, my money, my weapons, tattooed and poured expired ale all over my body, and left me for dead.

Well I'll explain how the previous ones were and how this one will be pretty close to as well. I came up with the idea after being in several wrestling E-Feds. E-feds you had a wrestler and each week you had an opponent. Both people would write what are referred to as rps. In E-Feds they pretty much just consisted of wrestlers doing an interview and trash talking their opponent. Whoever wrote better rps won the match. Rps were also sent to all members of the rpg by hitting reply to all on the roster that is e-mailed out once a week or when a change is made. All rps had to Contain the abbreviation of the E-Fed's name in the subject so that other members didn't discard it as junk mail(in this case UFR would need to be in the subject)
I liked wrestling quite a bit but I have always like anime much more. So I thought to myself... why not make an anime rpg that's like this? Thus the Universal Fighting Ring was born. It was ran fairly similarly to an E-Fed except obviously the fights were more like something out of a fighting game then a wrestling match obviously. And with anime characters people could have much more freedom with what they wanted to do in an rp then with a wrestler. They could write about going on an adventure or training or any number of other things. The rps became kinda like people writing mini fanfics about their character.
With that said the other basics are pretty much. You can use a character from pretty much any anime/video game you want or you can do the more creative thing and make your own character. Yes I said any anime, that means you can use a Dragon Ball Z character. However don't expect to be all uber powerful able to blow up the planet type crap.
You might be thinking any anime character? Wouldn't that be kind of messed up? Being able to choose a Dragon Ball Z character, a character from a futuristic anime, or someone from something like Slayers or Lodoss War. Well I kept this in mind. I had the perfect way to solve it, kind of an idea I stole from the game Star Ocean 2. There are two major planets in the UFR. One is earth which is where any characters from modern/futuristic scenarios would start. And there is Expel(From the game I got the idea from) which would be where a Slayers character or anything of that sort would start.
Although there will still be things like fighting tournaments, now I want to UFR to have abit more of a plotline to it. So your characters will have missions and such, which you'd have to rp for in the same manner you would a normal fight.
Major rules are
1. You cannot use another player in your rps without their permission. You also cannot use major npcs(non player characters) in an rp without my permission.
2. Swearing is allowed but not in excessive amounts. Your character shouldn't need to swear in every sentence he/she makes.
3. No racial slurs in rps. You'd think it's common sense but it's not.
4. If you're an aol user no embedding images that contain nudity in your rp.
5. No sending junk mail, spam, or chain letters to the mailing list.
I'll type more later, kinda sleepy right now. Gotta go. If anyone has any questions feel free to post them and I'll answer them after work tommorrow.
