especially with the two on the right! Now, I never watched much sailor moon, but I had heard stories about lesbian twins or something like that.

TNP: The Japanese have roughly the same spread as far as beauty as America does (but there arent any fat girls, so I suppose a scosh better, unless your in to that kind of thing
) Generally, they are *somewhat* easy, but to many of them make careers of their school and arent interested in guys. The thing about all this is, that for the guys, the Japanese dont really have much sex after they get married (Japan already has too many people, and they seem to have decided as a culture to shift to a downsizing mode) so that the time when a Japanese guy is getting most are his high school years. Unless they are willing to pay for the girls in Shibuya and Shinjuku (High school girls here participate in legal, non-pimped prostotution because they want more money, and NOT because they are poor... rather sad actually, but they just dont have western ethics.) As far as self restraint in high school/college there is none. They dont believe that mutual consent is that necisary, and if a girl is raped in Japan, she goes home and cries into her pillow and thats the end of the story (the courts dont hear many rape cases as Ive been told.) In cases of mutual consent, there are special hotels, dubbed "love hotels" that are hourly pay types where anyone, of any age can take any one, of any sex or age, into a room and have it their way. From what Im told theyre pretty cheap as well. Thats enough sex talk for now.

Gosh, the Japanese have a LOT of attitudes. Where to start, where to start...kthulhu wrote:Besides your host family, how have the Japanese been to you, attitude wise?
Ok, Ill start with attitudes toward Americans and foreigners. Japan has less than 1 percent of foreign population, and of that 1 percent, 80 percent are from China or Korea and are virtually indistinguishable from Japanese people. Whats this mean? This means that I have has the oportunity to be the first non-Japanese person a lot of Japanese had ever spoken to. I feel somethign like a Christopher columbus showing the natives the white mans world. As such, Ive had verried expiriences, but a couple of factors hold true throught. First and foremost, the Japanese simply cant believe in their wildest dreams that a gaijin like me (gaijin= Japanese for foreigner) could possibly speak Japanese. That means that every time I go to make a purchase at a store, the clerk freezes in horror, and looks long and hard at me until they have worked up some derivitive of "buy that, all would you please" which inevitably leads to more confusion. If they could just speak Japanese, I could know what they were saying, but they all seem to believe they are masters of English. This has other reprocusions inside the house and at school as well. Anytime I have trouble hearing what somebody says, or anytime somebody says something too fast in Japanese (and I, of course, in my politest Japanese ask them to kindly slow down of course) they simply switch over to English, and a misunderstand similar to the one described above ensues. Other than language, everyone is SHOCKED at how short I am (shut up you bastards!) There is a believe amongst the Japanese that everything they have in their own culture we have as well, so that when they explain a new holiday to me, they go to the translation dictianary to find the English word for it and expect me to be fully aware of what they are talking about. Invariably, there is no English for it, and they end up getting frustrated when I dont know how to wash my money at the local shrine...

There is tons more where that came from, but youll have to be more specific on a question like that, I could litteraly write a book on that subject.

I've read that Japan's declining birth rate is actually something of a problem with regards to the rising elderly population. Since the elderly receive inflow (health care, and I think pensions. Maybe more stuff...) from the government, as it were, without sending anything back (taxes), this could create a potential funding and care crisis, since a lower population of young people creates a smaller taxpaying base, and also means a smaller pool of healthcare workers. Still, since Japan's economy isn't very hot right now, it makes economic sense to have fewer children.
