ok why are we aguing about how different countrys started spelling things
and how it afects us decendants its not our fault our ancestors were so thickheaded they wouldent agree on a way to spell something like color/colour

Interestingly. most of the parts of standard American grammar that are different from British English are more archaic than their British counterparts. Shakespeare uses 'gonna', IIRC.
