Anyone seen The Guns of Navarone?

I want that gun.
heh ... sawn off shot guns ... the gun of teh shoemaker. if you really want one you can problaby pick up an old sideby side and make one. and if you know a thing or two about gun smithing you can make them really well.

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this before, but to own a sawed down shotgun, you have to register it with the ATF as an "AOW" (Any Other Weapon). It's $5, and needs to be registered irregardless of how it was made (i.e. a professional gunsmith creation, or an amateur hacksaw job).

Sawed down shotguns cannot be carried in public, concealed or exposed - it's illegal to do, and there are no permits that allow it.

A shotgun can become classified as an AOW if it has a barrel shorter than, I think, 16" or 18".

For all of you Desert Eagle guys out there, check out this website:

http://www.wildeyguns.com

The Desert Eagle can't compare to the performance of the .475 Wildey Magnum. Is anyone going to give me some ballistics or tech to back up their claims of best gun, or are you going to just keep sending in pictures without doing your homework?

RedFusionX, I have to admit the Barrett M82A1 and the Springfield Armory M-1A Garand with external magazine (rather than the crappy 8-round clip I used in a WWII M-1) are decent weapons.

You guys do realize you have all veered off topic, right? Can anyone get me a list of autoloading pistol cartridges with the same casing as a .22 WMR? I know the Ruger Single Six in .22LR comes with an interchangible cylinder to fire .22 WMR, and the barrel rifling works perfectly for both cartridges. From that information, it can be assumed a .22LR autoloader (like a Jennings J-22, for example) with a large enough frame could be machined to accept .22 WMR. The problem is fabricating all the blowback action crap to handle the pressures of a .22 Magnum, the bolt assembly, and new magazines.

Granted, the Desert Eagle has superior styling, but it lacks the adjustible gas-operated action feature, which allows the shooter to fine-tune the Wildey for any bullet load, from 260 to 400+ grain. This also helps dampen recoil, something the Desert Eagle cannot do.

On a final note, when did Charles Bronson ever use a Desert Eagle in his "Death Wish" movies?
