Have you ever seen Greg Proupe's (wheee!!! I can't spell) comedy central special. He makes fun of it. Oh, and I forgot that thanksgiving in November is a U.S. phenomenon, sorry if I offended anyone.

Yes, as a matter of fact the Puritans were persecuted. Because king whatshisface set up the church of England, this branch of Protestants believe that the religion climate of England was impure and currupt. So since they weren't down with this, they became an easy mark.

Many of them fled to the Netherlands, but feared that their way of life would be lost there. So they hoped in the May Flower which was bound for Virginia so they could set up their own ideal theocracy.
