Same here. I took Spanish over French. My roots pulled through for me and I aced the class. But this probably isn't helping.

My HS had a foreign language requirement as well. I ended up taking 2 years of Spanish and 1 year of Japanese. Through all three I was stuck with a bunch of kids who didn't give a damn about learning the language in question, and basically ran the class. I'd be taking Japanese in college right now, but the university hasn't offered it for the past 5 years or so I'm told. Yet strangely there's a class in Ojibwa. . . yeah, like that's useful.

(No offense to anyone of that ancestry, I just don't see why the university devotes time and money to a language that has little use in the world at large)

Well that would suck. Just use computer at public library or go to internet cafe or friends house or whatever. Lucky it's not Latin or Greek you're taking..
