Very true. The statistics show that in 20 years the average age of Japanese citiens will have moved up 10 years to 60 years old! Since when has it been SO unpopular to be young ^_^kthulhu wrote:I've read that Japan's declining birth rate is actually something of a problem with regards to the rising elderly population. Since the elderly receive inflow (health care, and I think pensions. Maybe more stuff...) from the government, as it were, without sending anything back (taxes), this could create a potential funding and care crisis, since a lower population of young people creates a smaller taxpaying base, and also means a smaller pool of healthcare workers. Still, since Japan's economy isn't very hot right now, it makes economic sense to have fewer children.
Maybe we'll see a "Roujin Z" situation?
