What Video Editor shall I use?
Hi everyone! To the date I´ve used AVS Video Editor but I got fed up with it and tried a pro one: Magix Video Editor, the problem is that my computer was too slow when adding effects or even scenes.
What Video Editor shall I use? I need a good one which doesn´t make my computer get stuck!!!
Thanks!

Well... if your computer is good enough I'd say Adobe Premiere Pro. My computer hangs a bit when I start up Premiere and it runs a little slowly for me but it works none the less. I haven't used Sony Vegas myself but I hear it's good.

Get the trial versions of popular editing software like MAGIX, Premiere Pro or Sony Vegas. You will see by yourself wich is the most suited program for you. The all serve the purpose of basic editing.
Speed is also a matter of how you work with your footage. The Bait&Switch method can give you a huge of working speed:

Re: What Video Editor shall I use?
Could you please explain me why you still use the old version?
The only advantage I remeber is the stuff with "Removing Full Frame Blending".
I edited for a long time with Pro 1.5 and I was pleased, but when I see what CS4 offers me I really don't miss far more crashes and less functionality.

I don't like the new interface. plus you can't change your settings after you create the project.Bauzi wrote:Could you please explain me why you still use the old version?

#1 Ok. I don't like the icons for example xDPwolf wrote: I don't like the new interface. plus you can't change your settings after you create the project.
#2 Alright, but you can have sequences with settings that are different to your project settings. That's still nice if you ask me.

IIRC, you can't bait-and-switch in Adobe Premiere Pro, unless I missed something....

Dude... you missed something. There is a function called "Relocate" media. The program will ask you to relocate media if it doesn't find one or when you actually tell the programm to relocate media by a click. It makes relocating easy.Unlimited Rice wrote:IIRC, you can't bait-and-switch in Adobe Premiere Pro, unless I missed something....
Personally I switch with different script versions (one with MJPEG and one with the original files) and it works really good
