AMV from 1999
Does anyone remember an AMV from AX99? It was Totoro using a song Billy Joel if I remember correctly. Does anyone know if the creator is still around?

That's right, exactly. I was assigned as the official understudy editor if the person who was assigned that track fell through and didn't deliver. he didn't. So the backup plan kicked-in, which was for me to update my 1998 linear-edited Tubthumping video as the DDR Tubthumping track. Here's the description I wrote of that track in my video profile:1998:

This video was ORIGINALLY made in 1998, debuting at Project A-kon 9. The version you see here, however, has been slightly revised and reconstituted as the 23rd track in the DDR Project for AWA 2001. It was a last-minute thing... the guy who was supposed to do the Tubthumping track backed-out and I had to fill-in quickly, by revising my old video to fit the DDR version of the song. I added a lot of new footage, but about 60% of the original stuff is still in here.
Originally, this video was made on a camcorder and VCR, but the new bits were added by my Mac G4 with Final Cut Pro.

Anna Exter did one to Billy Joel's "River of Dreams" (that "in the middle of the night" song) for AX 1999 or 2000. I think she works for Pioneer or Bandai as a translator...I know she translated Trigun. I don't think she's involved in the AMV scene anymore, and I'm pretty sure her videos aren't online anywhere.
I have no idea how to use this new forum.

And here I was going to ask whatever happened to her. I remember seeing her Porco Rosso/Pet Shop Boys AMV at Sakura-Con 2000 where it won the Guest's Choice award. I think the guests that year were Tiffany Grant, Tristan MacAvery (sp?), and...someone else (?).Kusoyaro wrote:Anna Exter did one to Billy Joel's "River of Dreams" (that "in the middle of the night" song) for AX 1999 or 2000. BTW, that was the con where your "Dreams Come True" AMV got Audience Choice.
