AMV and hardcore no match?

Post by E1ysian » Fri Sep 19, 2008 10:58 am

I made a kenshin amv to a hardcore song by underoath and it turned out to be a mistake. The reception was pretty good except for that everyone complained about the music!

ex. "Honestly I would have given this a 4...but the song was absolutely TERRIBLE. I could not STAND it... I watched in mute, that's how bad the song was."

(And fyi the song is made by a musical genious, it' just that this guy didn't like it)

Don't amv makers like hardcore or what's the matter? Can someone who like hardcore give an opinion to my video PLZ! :D

dont classify amv makers as liking or not liking particular songs. amv makers are people and like the songs people like, therefore from this we can conclude that real people dont like hardcore.

jk

anyway, if you want ops post in the ops forum with a title like "come here if you like hardcore" or something. i think one of the amvs on the overall top 10% list is a hardcore song.

yeah you're right. i just got a little frustrated because everyone seemed to lower their grades on me with the music as a reason. also i'm new to this community and i don't really know all the right threads and such, sry ^^

OK, it would be nice to find out which video that may be. I guess I'll go look if no one happens to no the name? =)

I also seriously started wondering how the guy I qouted could judge an AMV with the music missing :P Seems kind of pointless!

So, you're judging a whole community and their music tastes by a couple comments? Because it does seem that way..

But also have to say: Edit for yourself. Not for others. As long as you enjoy editing to a certain kind of music you like, why would you just edit to what the people want to see and hear? Be yourself, don't be what others would want you to be, and keep editing to what you want to edit regardless of the comments.. Constructive criticism that can improve your editing is something you should bother with, "I didn't like that music"-style comments are not.

I'm very sorry for judging this community, I didn't mean to :S

And I think you're definitely right. One's personal editing style isn't something that others should decide.

I guess I just take it personally when someone rejects my music style since it's a very important part of me. I just so happen to play in a hardcore band ^^

Anyways, I will focus on the constructive criticism and the comments that will make me better at editing!!! Thx for the replies!

Haven't read, but people are fucking stupid, so they'll say that a song sucks...Music is all a matter of opinion, there is no right or wrong.

It's not right to say that any music is right or wrong, good or bad, i totally agree. But how right is it to say that people are fucking stupid :/

Best advise right there.

I didn't care for the music myself when I opt'd this amv but that was not a factor in the feedback - I certainly hope you didn't take it that way. I gave it a 6 for re-viewability but again, I hope I made it clear that it was my issue and NOT the amv.
