Song suggestions, please!

Hello! I have a concept for a video in mind, and I am hoping someone might be able to suggest a song that fits it.

The video is about two people who meet and fall in love with each other. At some point, one will have to leave the other by boat. The video will show them missing each other for a while, but then they'll be reunited and happy together again.

Pretty basic, and I feel like it should be so easy to think of something, but I've had no luck thus far.

I am hoping for a song that's more cute and upbeat on a whole, but I am open to all sorts of stuff providing that it fits the concept.

Semi-charmed life by third eye blind.
It seems like a strange suggestion, but it's upbeat and it also has the slow part for when they have to leave, plus the boat thing made me think of the lyrics "I believe in the sand beneath my toes, the beach gives a feeling, an earthy feeling.." So that's what came to mind.
Plus the "not listening when you say goodbye" throughout the whole song. If you can just ignore the sex and the drugs of it, it fits

I've always wanted to use that song for an amv, but I never found a good excuse to...someday...

Hmmm...

For the part about the boat and being apart, I suppose you could do "Blues Run The Game" by Simon & Garfunkel. It's kind of a sad song, though.

For the relationship, maybe "Who Wrote The Book Of Love?" by The Monotones would work.
