Editing peripherals

Post by Mr Pilkington » Wed Jan 08, 2003 12:06 am

OK, this I going sound incredibly stupid, but at AWA I was watching Iron Chef and noticed that there was a little silver perif setting adjacent from the mouse. They announced what it was called but I totally forget. I was wondering if anyone knows or has ever used one before, and if they serve any practical purpose what so ever? Neither contestant seemed to even pay attention to the unit, let alone use it. Either way I’m kind of interested in giving it my own field-test, and would like info on where and how to get one of my own. Forgive me for sounding totally ignorant, I really should have paid better attention.

I think it was a little device that explodes if the contestants try to remove their hands from the mouse during the match.

http://www.contouravs.com/cav_shuttlepro_info.html

Its called the Contour Shuttle Pro, and from what little Ive heard, its a pretty cool thing to have while editing. Everyone Ive ever talked to who has used one says its a good buy, and Im thinking the only reason Hsien and Joe didnt use the gadget at Iron chef is because niether one wanted to be bogged down with learning a new piece of hardware on the spot.
Im looking into getting one myself, but I do want to give it a test drive before I drop money on it.
Anyways, hope this helps ^_^

Well thanx Wonka! Supposedly AIS carries it, funny I had looked there but never seen it. I might just have to pick one up tomorrow. (If I can find me one) I'll let ya know the results.

How much is this thing, and could it be used as another mouse, or as like a remote control?
