Azrael St.Cloud Productions -- AMV Theif

Post by Meowcream » Sat Sep 22, 2007 12:37 pm

Hi!

I'm new here -- and I mainly just posted to warn people who make AMVs about this dude I found on myspace.

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu ... =120198058

A while back I was goofing around and I made a music video to Excel Saga set to "I'm a Scatman" by Scatman John, just to be silly. This was about five years ago or so -- I thought it was long gone -- I didn't have a copy of it anymore. I was bored one night last month and decided to do a search for it on youtube and I found it. I was so excited (the person who posted it on Youtube didn't take credit for it). Since I found it there I wondered if it had been posted anywhere else so I did a google search, and found Azrael St.Cloud Productions, who not only had it posted but also took credit for it. So, yeah, I was pretty pissed. It's not even a GOOD video, I was just messing around one night being silly, but still, its the principal.

So I sent him a message complaining to him, which he read and never replied to.

Since he claimed credit to my crappy video (not to mention he apparently doesn't even have the video editing skills to edit out my e-mail address at the end of the video), I doubt he's made any of the videos he has posted.

So I suggest you just browse around his page to make sure nothing you have made is up.

[MOD17: You will have to take this issue up with MySpace. We can't do anything about it.]

It's inevitable really, unless you put a logo or something you can claim signature in it and put it in the most difficult to convert format possible (like .mp4).

You can contact them and ask them to stop. Other than that, getting more than a little bent over it is a waste of time and energy.

I DO have a logo at the end of it XD

It's not like I think I'ma sue him for a million dollars or anything XD I just wanted people to know about it.

The part that gets me bent out of shape the most is his long biography going on about how much he loves to do it and how he's selfless and all this other crap. The real kicker is at the end of it where he tells people to e-mail him and ask for his permission before using 'his' videos.

And that's exactly why it's so easy to steal vids. You know,it's not that hard to just throw in video in any editing program and just cut off those logo, either they are at start,or at the end.

And if you'll try to put in logo at the corner of your vid,and then leave it to be there trough the whole vid,it'll look very distracting for sure, just the same as subtitles. Just throwing in your logo in the middle of vid may ruin whole video too.

There will always be copycats and thieves, and the only way to stop it,is to stop creating the stuff they steal from you.

You won't win anyway, all you can do is complain, and that won't change anything. Sorry if it sounds harsh, but reality is harsh.

You're not the first one whos video was stolen. GET OVER IT!
:D I like laughter ;DD

Actually, he is keeping the information in the vid that the editors put in, and stating that he made the video FOR the editors. For instance, for "Anime For Humanity" :
This is something i Did for a regular client of mine Toff, Alot of work was put into it and i mean ALOT so please enjoy
I thought it was interesting that says he won 5th place at a con with Doki's "Right Now" vid. I mean, he should have swept the contest...

I put my logo at the start, and slowly fade it out as the music picks up. That way, if anyone cuts it out, the AMV will start at some really odd point in the song. Thank God the songs I've chosen allow me to do that.

And that is too true.
