Inserting credits?
I was wondering if it's a good idea or not to put credits into an AMV that I plan to show at an anime convention. If so, how should I go about doing it? I was thinking of putting them at the beginning of the video as the music starts up.
So if any of you have any experience with this kind of thing I would appreciate any advice. ^__^

I agree with Rapture, Credits, bumpers, etc are an instant DQ at most cons
there are different ways
what might be the easiest is to make a Photoshop file, Transparent except where you want Logo and Text to go, and you might want to place the text against a small background or add a stroke so it has some contrast against the video
then just import the .psd you made into premiere and overlay onto a video track above the ones you were working on, I suggest adding a Video Track just for this purpose, the video will show through the Trasparent part
also please note when doing this, there are safe areas (not too worried as this is most likely only gonna ever be seen on a computer, but imparting knowledge is alwasy a good thing)
the first safe area is the Motion Safe, thats roughly 5% in from every side (motion outside that box risks being cut off by the edges of a TV Screen)
the second is the tiitle safe at roughly 10% in from every side (text outside that box also risks being cut off)
hope that helps

what they said - thats what i do... make two separate coppies
and as for putting credits in, i think that depends on what program you are using O.o

Here's all you need to know about credits:
1) Make a really, really, REALLY bad video. I'm talking the type of video with absolutely no redeemable features that only morons and those with no taste at all could like. Picture a Kionon video. Yeah, that's the type of horror I'm talking about.
2) Make a still image saying the video was made by DokiDoki, Tsunami Jones, or one of the other mods/admins. Be sure to include their email address. Slap it onto the end of the video.
3) Release via P2P programs.
4) Time how long it takes before you're banned for this stunt (7 months and counting).

Credits are fine for your distro copies anda lot of creators do it.
However Cons don't like them and unless they are feeling generous; you will be disqualified (others that are nicer MIGHT crop them out for you).
Credits ruin all blind judging attempts and/or puts more stress on teh con staff who has to edit the video to fix the problem.

It's more a mater of despiration than generosity if a con accepts credited vids - or the needlessly complex interplay of small con w/no skilled editors attending that everyone is made to feel guilty for submitting to.
