how you spend the midnight hours editing!

As of now im editing a samurai champloo video and so far being completely intoxicated is the way to go as i spend my free time thinking how sexy fuu is while editing something together. for my breaks i usually take a piss, check my myspace and listen to my emo play list consisting of Kill Hanna, Underoath, The Used, and the (not really emo) best of Atreyu. (ok, since they're actually named after a Neverending story character, they're emo).

Nowadays i habitually smoke my menthol milds in-between my countless glasses of jack and coke and ponder about how i can (in this case) out do the other 600 samurai champloo videos circulating out there. occasionally, out of shear boredom of watching the champloo trio starving for food like a 3rd world country, i sometimes troll this website in attempts to have some form of social activity as i plow into the midnight hours of slicing and dicing a music video set to music where most people won't make out the lyrics there-in because metalcore is THAT awesome.

Back in the old days (2 years ago) all i required for comfort during the editing process was a pack of sour starbursts and the soundtrack to Mulon Rouge.

o' how things have changed.

Sorry, that was pretty rude of me actually.

I think when your brand new at anything and have a youthful passion for it, you are easily satisfied. As you progress and develop, you become better. At the same time, your standards get higher. 10 years ago people were making DBZ videos with white zombie and it was the shit. Now as the community progresses, people have moved past it.

I think everyone when they're first starting this hobby falls in love with the innocent joy of matching images they love with music they love. Its a shame we can't recapture that innocence and combine it with our present skill and wisdom, but then we wouldn't HAVE skill or wisdom so its a contradiction in terms. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

Sometimes I wish I could love shitty videos again, but in the end, you always have to be moving forward in life. Yesterday is old hat, gimme today.

actually im a professional videographer for the Air Force and i've been doing this for about 4 years. other than that, your spot on. I still have that drive. although i can say that none of my video's are spectacular.
