When a big or fiddly or complex masking / compositing job finally falls into place. Nobody who hasn't seen the original footage will even notice, but I how how good it is. :lol:

Watching the finished product is both reward and motivation. There's a video I've had planned since

Ahem. (put my headphones on the keyboard and posted. >.<)

...Since 2003 / 2005, but when I think about the scenes and the editing I see them with the same clarity that I see scenes from vids I've watched loads of times. In a sense, the video's done... it's just that no-one else has seen it and it isn't on my hard drive.

The BWAHAHA moment at the very beginning, when the idea grabs my brain and sets it on fire. Glee time. Glee.

Then I generally have to wait six months to three years until I have the slightest clue about how to make it work. But until then, at least I've got entertaining pictures in my head every time I hear the song. :P

Defeating the "The BWAHAHA moment at the very beginning, when the idea grabs my brain and sets it on fire. Glee time. Glee. " and grinding it to very fine dust.

In my experience, usually friends convince friends to make AMVs, then the friend who was "convinced" curses the original friend for getting them into it, then in turn gets another friend into it. . .thus the viscious circle is perpetuated. :twisted:

That's pretty much me right there. I love first getting that perfect, awesome idea, but it usually takes me ages to get around to making it.

I really am an idea whore. I keep this ginormous idea list on a Word Document, and it just keeps getting bigger while I slowly attempt to finish at least a few of the ideas that are on it. ^_^;;

When I tell someone about an uber-fantastic AMV idea and they confirm my genius.

My favorite AMV moment thus far along these lines was when I'd done the first eight seconds or so of a comedy vid - no hardcore jokes, no major slapstick - and was told it was really good and really funny. This was great news, because I had set a semi-goal of a gag per five seconds and the scene itself was not one that existed in the anime, I had to piece it together to make it amusing.

This, of course, was one of the things I lost when my HD recently ate all, yes ALL, of my AMV material(s) from the past two years. :evil:

the best part hearing a good response from viewers.
If you want a series to be longer just write fanfiction!(but don't make anyone read it)
