I don't see the big deal. Copyright holders ask youtube to remove content on a daily basis. The only difference here was that a group went and found a whole lot, and submitted them all for removal at once...

Yeah, it's just TV show recordings and stuff I'm guessing, because when I search Sailor Moon I still get 16000+ results.

Shame it wasn't the anime "music videos" though.
