I thought he was the new admin. Did Phade boot him outta here or something?

He was driving along a lonely, dusty road, when his car stalled. The from the sky came a bright light .... and one anal probe later he was taken to Zarax where he awaits further "testing".

Given that Phade had to rise from his sickbed to take over administration of the site, it's entirely reasonable to conclude that they shot AD on the causeway.
