Just saw an aluminum video

and wow
I hate how these great vids slip by newer members just because they are underrated.

I bet I havn't seen atleast a dozen AMVs that are just as good. I don't want this to turn into a "best underrated thread"....but please shine some light on videos with simplistic greatness like this.

Good choice! That video was downright creepy and very hot at the same time!

Um...Aluminum has been a creator since around 1999. That video you linked was his 2001 AWA Masters submission. He's just never been a huge .org user.
I have no idea how to use this new forum.

I didn't say it was a new video.

Just saying these great unpublicized videos are never known by people that were not around during those times.

He's far from underrated. Unpublicized, sure, but oh well. It's their loss, and I don't think Milberry cares about random .Org users anymore.

I think you guys are misinterpreting what Tash meant to say. He didn't mean to say underrated, he meant (possibly) underappriciated.

I believe what he's trying to say is that there are many great videos out there that, while they may be remembered by the more veteran editors, they're underexposed to the current community. I think a point could be made that the video Tash linked was done before I started editing. While I may know it, that doesn't mean everyone does. It's a great video, and people should be reminded about it.

He even said that he doesn't mean for this to be a "Most Underrated Videos" thread, but perhaps a thread where older editors would suggest or recommend videos that can still be held to a high standard and learned from.

"Closer" by aluminum is in my top 5 of all time. Definitly one of the best videos ever made in my opinion.

Totally agree. I still hate that it didn't win Master's that year. (Though he did slip up and leave his studio name in about four frames in the middle.)

Didn't help that I was the only one in the room who was familiar with the original video :(

I took a lot of mood inspiration from that video when I made my lone horror video.

And as said, it's even better if you've seen the original NIN video.
