Getting anime footage

This is not a 'How do i make a AMV' question. Its more of a technical question, i think. I want to make an AMV, but without downloading a bunch of software like Divx and such. I was hoping their was a way to do it with these software. Theirs gotta be. Does anyone know?

With what software?

Unless you're running something like dyne : bolic, your system does not have all software you need to do video editing already on it.

I already have the video editing software but im talking bout the software used to capture footage and such. I just need a way to put the footage into my computer without getting a codec or other stuff.

I read that, and it wasnt very helpful really. It still says to use divx and i think u have to download that. If i can just get some footage into a camcorder i would be well on my way to making a vid and still not download divx. Please be patient with me people im new to computer talk.

Lemme break it down. There is no possible way to make a video without a codec. You could make one using codecs that come with your computer (like...Indeo) and not download any more, but you would really be better off getting the AMVApp and letting it give you the codecs you need to edit and watch ~97%* of the videos on this site.

*77% of statistics are made up.

I wanted to try that but im worried that stuff has adware or spyware (or a virus). thats why i wanted to make an AMV without downloading anything.

The software on AMVapp is not spyware.

No, the people at this site that make software aren't knuckleheads that do that... Even though most of the software isn't originally made by us, thousands have downloaded AMVapp with no spyware problems or of that such.

The Org is dedicated to amvs, not annoying people or trying to make a quick buck.
