Beta for godix Guide to Trailers
In the spirit of 'how to make an action music video my way' guides I present the godix guide to making trailers. I'd appreciate editorial suggestions before I submit this to the admins email to get deleted without a second thought.
*****
1) Try matching the god damn sound effects in the audio for a change. If there's a clang in the sound I damned well better see something on the screen that would make a clang.
2) There is no two. Instead go re-read #1 until you get it.
There you go, now go make your trailer.

it needs a graph somewhere. graphs make guides look professional.

It needs to be more technically-complicated. I mean, come on. You need at least one or two passages about colorspaces, convolution kernels, and bump-mapping to make the neophytes whine for a "dummies" version

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Thank you for your help guys, here's the updated godix guide to making trailers:
1) Try matching the god damn sound effects in the audio for a change. If there's a clang in the sound I damned well better see something on the screen that would make a clang.
Here's a little graph to help highlight my point:

Now if you study that graph you'll notice two things. First off, as the amount of sound sync goes up so does the quality. The second thing to notice is that you, Mr 'I can't sync even to a guy screaming "SYNC THIS PART"', suck. There is a third point on the graph but it's just a smartass comment by some soon to be killed graphmakers so please ignore it.
Now you may be wondering how exactly you sync to the sound. Examine the following timeline closely:

See that bit right where the marker is? If you listen to it you're hear a heartbeat. Now comes the tricky part so pay attention, SYNC TO THE GOD DAMNED SOUND. You can play with colorspaces, convolution kernels, bump-mapping, or insert a blinking neon sign that says 'Look at me, I'm a sound sync'. I don't care what you do to sync it but do something. Understand now? Good.

My next video will have all of these in your honor. Except the bump-mapping, I still haven't figured Blender out enough yet. Maybe POV-ray......And the neon sign, I'll have to save that for a comedy video.godix wrote:See that bit right where the marker is? If you listen to it you're hear a heartbeat. godix, your graph is slightly off.

Measuring Trailer Quality in Ohms (Opinion Honesty Measurement) and Sync in Amps (Amount of Matching Places), we get a graph of Current over Resistance. Since V = I * R, I / R^2 = V / R^3, giving us Voltage over Resistance Cubed, since we all know what Volts means. (VCA Obviously L33t Trailer).
