First, take a song that has both a lighthearted and a serious, fastpaced part, then apply the humorous scenes from the series to the lighthearted parts of the song. Getting more serious as you get closer to the climax (Vash getting madder/more serious and the scene's in FLCL just before the fights) Then I would suggest the scene from FLCL where Noata gets mad a Mamimi and calls canti to start the action, just going all out. end the action with either Vash killing Legato, or Naota kissing Haruko. Proceed to show the sadness death causes vash, and Naota's more tender moments. End with either Haruko leaving, or Vash returning with Knives (do the latter only if you inclue thier fight in the action).

I believe that would work if done correctly.
