Just to re-assure you. I have seen the forum thread by Moonzag posted back in November. I did what I could but that song just didn't work for me. If anyone else is doing a Lain vid, Moonzag suggested the song 'The Wired' from this band's site: http://www.machinaesupremacy.com The lyrics and the title match perfectly. The music, however, is kinda fit for an action-type vid, that's just MY opinion though.
Anywho, I need some suggestions on my upcoming Serial Experiments Lain vid, otherwise, I'll pass the time on something else until a decent idea arises I can work with.
Any song (preferibly original) with mild space for action as Lain isn't really an 'all out' action anime.
Suggestions?

Ah, I'm not sure...
Nine Inch Nails - "The Great Below"
This song doesn't really leave room for action, but ever since I first heard it, it just screamed "Lain video." The song is, in fact, VERY mellow, but I think it could offer a more unique take on Serial Experiments Lain's story. I felt like this song would make for a perfect 'twisted religion' type of video. You know how all of the people of the Wired practically worship Lain? Well, that was my take on this video. The section I had envisioned best was this:
"I descend from grace
In arms of undertow
I will take my place
In the great below"
The Lain of the Wired causes the real world Lain to be hated more and more as the series goes on (AKA: descending from grace.) So, she decides to take a VERY drastic stand against it and ultimately damn herself because of it (AKA: "I will take my place...In the great below"
The rest of the song fits pretty well, but you would have to think creatively.
I don't know. I like it - maybe you do, too, or maybe you don't. It's a weird idea, I'll admit, and likely not the type you're looking for. Still, it would make a great Lain video. Maybe someone will do it. I hope so, anyway.
Either way, Farewell, Good Luck, and Happy AMV-ing!

Miho Hatori and Handsome Boy Modelling School - "Metaphysical"
This song is basically a stream of indecipherable technobabble, delivered in a cute female (japanese) voice, with a gently lyrical, back-and-forth tune underneath it. I always thought it would make a good Lain AMV, but i'm not yet good enough to do it myself. The speaking parts can pull very fast sets of clips from all over the series, while the non-speaking parts would (with a little time-fiddling) suit something like the train ride.
