Pride with editing

Post by LightningCountX » Thu Oct 21, 2004 12:12 pm

Have you ever been in the process of making an amv, and you were having trouble finishing it cause you couldn't stop watching what you edited so far cause it pleased you so much? This keeps happening with the video im working on right now, and I want to finish it, but I cant stop watching what I editied so much because I feel to happy/proud of myself for pulling out of my amv depression.

Can pride be a major downfall/comback in amv making? Your thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated :)

My editing process:

1. spend an hour editing 3 seconds of video
2. spend an hour in a stupid daze watching the 3 seconds on loop
3. repeat

well, it takes a little more effort to do more than cut and fade clips together.

Took the words right from my mouth :P

Yeah, I've been watching my AMVhell entry many many times in a row. Namely, because of just how fucken bad it is :D But I'm still proud of it, even if it is shitty.

Exactly. I also have the habit of watching the whole video about a dozen times after watching the one segment many times.

At the end of every 20 seconds I always watch what I've done so far at LEAST 30 times before moving on. Once I finish a video it's on a loop for days.
The best effects are the ones you don't notice.
