Whats is going on........?????

Everytime I go to look at movie vids. my computer freezes, it cant be our computers, because there fast and good, but then you never know, whats going on? Do you know?

What players/codecs do you have on that computer?

heh, well...no offence, but with that statement, it sounds like it IS your computers..lol.

HAve you done a defrag lately? any spyware your not aware of? do you have the virtual memory space to watch these vids? is your HD full?

You just have to look at everything, and troubleshoot from there....

maybe you have a virus....run a scan check lately?

No the computer is a apple imac, and is in perfect cond. and it cant be the connection because its dsl, so I dont know whats going on...............But thanks

Well, your first problem is owning an iMac, but that's besides the point.

You're going to need to make sure you have the proper codecs, pretty much DivX and/or XviD. You can find DivX codecs for Apple <a href="http://www.divx-digest.com/software/div ... l">here</a>.

Also, I would recommend at least 256 MB RAM. Older iMacs came with 96 or less, which is just barely sufficient for low-end video.

Its the schools computer and theres still a gig. of memery, so is there any new sugestion?

What dokool said, and I asked in the first response to this topic: you need the proper codecs, probably. Does that PC have DivX and/or XviD? If not, follow the magic link in dokool's post :roll:
