HERE! so, heres what i got planned: a fight or fights. megaman remix theme. i weant your opinions on what would be nice, also if you guys wanna pitch some ideas in that general direction, please do so for i am a newbie and could use all the help i need.

Some kind of introduction that explains, at least in some sense, why the fight is taking place. (I still say The Great Wang's "<a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... 2092">Vash vs. Spike</a>" video (the one to "Smooth Criminal") is a great example of this.)
More good action synch, less gratuitous flashing.

you're probably gonna make the best video by playing with different ideas and making several different videos the first 8 months, and spending the last 3 months (or however long it takes) making your final video. it's really hard to make your best video on your first try because there's a lot of stuff you learn only after you finish a video, mainly self-criticism and receiving feedback from others.

kinda like what downwithpants said. You start out with what you think is great, and a couple months later you come out with something else thats a little better, and so on. Its kinda cool to see your editing skills grow.
on another note, if ur looking for a senior project, this orgs got all you'll need. You can have your own journal (just type in it a couple times a week on progress, life or whatever). Then u can just print ur journal entries out etc. Almost too good to be true. If only i made amv's when i was in highschool. Sadly you don't get to show them off as much in college...... *insert fangirls*
Well as of what to look for, flashy isn't always good. A video that has emotion and tells a good story is much better than a video with lots of effects. But first things, do you have the program you want to use picked out?

so right down to the word... it's been very rare that some one has made a good video the first time around, and even then they take a lot of time to practice and do their homework.downwithpants wrote:you're probably gonna make the best video by playing with different ideas and making several different videos the first 8 months, and spending the last 3 months (or however long it takes) making your final video. it's really hard to make your best video on your first try because there's a lot of stuff you learn only after you finish a video, mainly self-criticism and receiving feedback from others.
I would do exactly has downwithpants says... spend a lot of time getting your concpet down and planning out your video and editing it., trying different ideas. Then once you feel like you have it down, go for it. put it together. also, best to find someone who is whilling to help you along the way. give them beta's of the video and ask for "good construstive input".
wont know if something is good or bad if all they say is "good" or "cool".
i hope that helps, and good luck

Wow. I never gave much thought to Senior projects, because, well, I'm graduating early, so I don't have to go through that.
But man, I wish I had thought of AMVs as a senior project...
ANYWAY.
Yes, what everyone else said. If you need a beta reviewer, I'm your man. I helped SnhKnives with his first video, and look how it turned out(The joke is that I practically made it for him, but whatever. >_>)
Enough with my horrid bragging.
For your first video, you MUST MUST MUST read these guides:
EADBAG
Vicbond's working with DVD Footage
My Action synch guide
(I'd recommend Madbunny's action video guide, but it's still broken)
Also, for bringing AMVs to school, I've had expierence... The worst part isn't making the video, it's getting it in a format you can show your class.
The best thing to do is put it on a tape.
What I did for my first time putting a vid on a tape, is make a VCD and put that VCD in my VCD player(or DVD player with VCD capability) And then hooked the player to the VCR.
After several failed attempts, I FINALLY got the darn thing on tape.
You could also export straight to VCR, if you have the right equipment, or use a DVD instead of a VCD, letting you have better quality.
If your highschool is technology-based(Most are getting that way now), you could encode a (data) CD/DVD-R to MPEG or MPEG4 V2(Kind of like divx, but better, with .avi extention. Should be playable on all WMPs).
And then either have your teacher play it on the computer, or hook it up to a projector.
You could also do a VCD. I'd say a DVD as well, but if you don't have the right software for that(computer's DVD-Rom, DVD Player, up-to-date regular DVD player that will read DVD-Rs) things could go wrong.
So your best bet is a tape...

so, i could put it to DVD, use my laptop (when i get it, for amv watching anyways) and just plug it into the network at school, that should work. yes, i would like some beta reviews if ppl are willing. i havent been getting alot of enthusiasm here, for making an amv as a school project, so any support u guys wanna lend, live it up! i could use all the , "go getter's" u got! in ur guys's personal opinions, what is the best software to use when making an amv? my computer should handle it, its the shiznite, AND its getting a better graphics card (heehee). but, yea, im needing the software, so, what do you recommend?

I wish I *had* a senior project.
Make sure you watch a lot of good AMVs first. It helps you get an idea for the kind of flow that should go into a video, and gives you the inspiration to do it. If your inspiration comes from mediocre videos, your video will be mediocre too. Really, the key to making good videos is to find a song you love, an anime you love, and close your eyes and imagine how you can bring out the utmost emotion in the video, whether it be action or otherwise. Even if your editing skills aren't so great, if you can do that, you'll have an enjoyable video anyhow.
