What is your opinion on Matrix MV's or other non-anime videos being placed on this site?
I just downloaded one that turned out to be the matrix (random download) and i prefer to watch only Anime Music Videos, I really dont care about Movie Music Video's...

They can be cataloged, but not hosted on the Donut server. If any of these videos you find are hosted on LOCAL, report them, if they are not...too bad. (just to get this out of the way incase this is a rant about non anime being hosted on this site)
Personally I like some of the live action videos. Problem is they are not easy to make compared to other mediums, like anime. More often than not the videos are made, playing out long durations of the movie's footage and fight scenes much like a poorly made DBZ video (yeah I know that's an oximoron).
However well made ones, using well made synch and taking advantage of a films better moments of filming and scenery (pans, close ups, and others) can actually be appealing, but often I've seen live action vids that use bad choices of scenes for placement. While that scene might be fantastic looking in the movie itself...it would most definately always work in a music video, unless used wisely.
Anywho I'm not one to try and sound like an elitist, so those who make live action videos should feel free to do what they want with them.

I think it is refreshing to see other source material than anime at times.
Do I think it belongs on AMV's local hosting...?
It's not my call, and I really have no opinion.
They can certainly be catalogued here. For studio's listing sake most definately, if not for any other reason.
I am working on a MAD, and have debated whether or not I will put it in the video catalogue when the time comes. Of course it will be inelligable for contests here.

With "The Matrix"'s visual content/angles/techniques being based on manga and anime visual concepts, a video comparing the fluidity of it... using Animatrix and Matrix footage would be a worthy artistic venture.
